Three suspects are now in custody after a high-speed chase disrupted traffic in the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood on Friday. The pursuit, which began around 9 a.m. on the 405 Freeway at Mulholland Drive, shook local onlookers as a gray Nissan Altima with Florida plates tore through the streets and freeways at speeds of up to 120 mph. CBS Los Angeles reported that the pursuit stemmed from a carjacking where the trio was said to have used physical force.

During the chase, the Nissan hit speeds nearing 130 mph on the 170 Freeway, as mentioned by FOX LA. It went through neighborhoods including Sherman Oaks, Studio City, and North Hollywood, before concluding in Sun Valley. Initially, there was a belief that up to five individuals might be in the car; however, the eventual arrest only accounted for three individuals. The pursuit ended in a peculiar fashion when the suspect struck a trash can and smoothly transitioned from chaos to calm, pulling into an apartment building parking lot where the occupants casually exited the vehicle.

Post-chase, a spectacle unfolded as one suspect fled into and out of a tire shop, being fetched in handcuffs by pursuing officers. NBC Los Angeles stated that two others were arrested at approximately the same moment. No injuries have been reported following the high-tension police chase, which saw the car running red lights, breaking traffic laws, and dangerously weaving in and out of morning rush hour traffic.

The entire ordeal was sparked by an assault, robbery, and carjacking reported in the Pacific Palisades area. According to FOX LA, the victim relayed to officers that a large group of people had assaulted and robbed her, with some of them escaping in the Nissan, which turned out to be an overdue rental. As the dust settles, the detained suspects face charges of felony evading and carjacking.
