In an overnight incident in Harris County, a stolen vehicle being chased by deputies crashed, killing three teenagers and injuring three others. The chase began when deputies tried to stop the vehicle on Rolling Creek Drive. The driver didn’t stop, and the pursuit ended with the crash on Sorrel Ridge near Cypresswood Drive, according to Click2Houston.
A short chase ended with a vehicle crashing into a tree, killing three of the occupants, including the driver. The three injured teens were between 14 and 15 years old. The chase lasted about 40 seconds, with the car reaching speeds of 90 mph. Authorities are still unsure about the teens' intentions before the crash, as detailed by ABC13.
Officials revealed that "there were some masks recovered from the scene. They did have some screwdrivers and hammers in their possession. At this point, it’s all preliminary, so we don’t really know what they were out doing," said Maj. John Nanny. The stolen vehicle was flagged by a license plate reader, leading to the deputies' chase. Three surviving teenagers are in stable condition and will be interviewed as part of the investigation. The exact events leading to the crash remain unclear, as stated by ABC13.
