On a Monday afternoon near Lake Brantley High School, two juveniles were arrested after the sound of "20 pops" sent the nearby schools into lockdown. As reported by FOX 35 Orlando, the situation involved a toy gun, but not before causing a significant scare. The scare disrupted the dismissal of students at both the high school and Forest City Elementary School. The lockdown was initiated until a thorough investigation could determine the nature of the threat.

Witnesses described a group of juveniles across from the high school, with one appearing to hold a gun. This person then fired what was later confirmed to be a toy weapon into the air while laughing, captured both on video and through the eyes of multiple onlookers. According to ClickOrlando, one man recounted the juveniles “just shooting each other, playing around” as he passed by to pick up his child.

The Altamonte Springs Police Department responded to the incident and later visited the homes of the involved students, affirming the gun was indeed a toy. Although this encounter turned out to be a false alarm, it brought back memories of past incidents where Orbeez guns, a toy sold online that shoots gel beads, were misused in a similarly unsettling manner.

The two students attending Lake Brantley High School are facing charges for disrupting school pickup and trespassing.
