This morning, an ordinary trip to a Sheetz gas station in Twinsburg took an unexpected turn when a vehicle erupted into flames. The Twinsburg Fire Department reported on their Facebook page that at approximately 1:05 am, a car caught fire upon arrival at the fuel pump. The post detailing the incident stated that employees responded with alacrity, promptly hitting the emergency shut-off to prevent a larger disaster and then calling 911.
Captain Ketner was first on the scene, met by an engine compartment transformed into a blazing pyre. Fortunately, the A-Shift crews from the fire department followed quickly, working efficiently to douse the flames. Despite the intensity of the fire, no injuries were reported, which was a fortunate mark amidst potential chaos.
According to the fire department's social media update, the affected fuel pump at Sheetz has been taken offline for inspection. Commuters and patrons are urged to exercise caution near the area. The aftermath presents another danger: the water used to extinguish the blaze has frozen over, creating a treacherous layer of ice around the site.
