A fire engulfed part of a Waukesha car dealership on Monday, leading to the hospitalization of two individuals. Flames were reported before 1:30 p.m. at BAM Motors LLC, situated on West and Sunset. The fire officials described the scene as a "fully involved fire in the garage area," as FOX6 News detailed.
All personnel present at the scene managed to exit the building unharmed, yet two workers required medical attention and, were subsequently taken to a local hospital for evaluation. With the help of the Waukesha Police Department, firefighters managed to get a handle on the situation, by controlling the scene and confirming the well-being of the employees. While the cause of the fire remains unknown, officials disclosed that it does not seem to be suspicious, WISN reported.
Although the exact sum of the damages has not been calculated, it is evident that the structure has suffered extensive damage due to smoke and fire. "The structure was occupied at the time of the fire," the Waukesha Fire Department pointed out, as GMToday confirms, "All workers safely evacuated before fire crews arrived." The fire, which took approximately 20 minutes to be subdued, resulted in significant damage to the business.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, executed by the respective Fire and Police Departments of Waukesha. Officers from both departments have been assisting with the ongoing investigation and ensured that all employees were accounted for in the aftermath of the fire.
