Yesterday morning, tragedy struck at the Notting Hill Condominiums in Lake Mary when an altercation escalated to gunfire, resulting in two people being shot. According to WESH, deputies were called to the scene after 2 a.m. and discovered a man and a woman both suffering from gunshot wounds. The male victim was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, while the female victim's injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and she was treated at the scene.
The suspected shooter was taken into custody and explained to detectives that the incident began with a verbal altercation inside a condo. According to deputies, when he attempted to leave, the male victim followed him to his car and attacked him. The man stated he then retrieved a firearm and shot the other man. There are currently no charges filed against the shooter, as the situation is believed to be an act of self-defense.
