Four days into the new year, Oxnard found itself confronting a brazen armed robbery at The Home Depot on Esplanade Drive. The Oxnard Police Department has since arrested two suspects linked to this crime and a similar one that occurred on Tuesday at Walmart, according to an official news release on the police department's website. The incidents involved two men and two women, with one of the males using a handgun to threaten store employees during the robberies.
Investigators tied the two robberies together, leading to the identity and arrest of 19-year-old Erasmo Corral and 20-year-old Wendy Gutierrez. Both arrests were made on Wednesday, LOCATED in a north Oxnard neighborhood, when officers discovered firearms and narcotics inside their vehicle and later at a related residence, the pair were immediately booked on robbery and conspiracy charges although the search for the two other individuals involved in the crimes continues, as reported by the Oxnard Police Department.
