The chase that took place Saturday morning has resulted in two suspects being taken into custody. The pursuit, which began in Montgomery County, saw a white vehicle without plates speeding and driving erratically on U.S. Highway 59, ultimately coming to an end near Memorial Hermann Hospital in Humble. Despite attempts by the police to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away, leading to a foot chase around the hospital after the suspects abandoned the car, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.
Both individuals were quickly apprehended, with one of the suspects collapsing after a short run, visibly exhausted, and unable to either walk or stand straight as described by the Humble Police; the other suspect was discovered drenched and bleeding after a fall into a ditch, concocting a false alibi involving nonexistent stays at a seniors-only apartment complex. "Little did the suspect know that the apartments he was referring to were only rented out to the elderly, not to mention, it did not explain why he was out of breath, wet and bleeding," said Humble Police, according to FOX 26 Houston's coverage.
My Texas Daily confirmed that after the suspects were in custody, authorities established that they had stolen Lego sets valued at approximately $1,000 from a Montgomery County business and were possibly linked to other thefts in the Humble area. Additionally, one suspect was flagged with an outstanding warrant.
The two individuals now face charges for evading arrest in Montgomery and Harris Counties after their high-speed chase. Their attempt to flee led to multiple serious charges.
