Meadow Roland was the standout performer for UNLV, pouring in a career-high 16 points against his, hometown team. Roland's efficient shooting night saw her go 6-for-7 from the field, including a perfect 2-for-2 from beyond the arc, while also grabbing seven rebounds to lead her team, as Sports Illustrated reported. Alongside Roland, Aaliyah Alexander and McKinna Brackens contributed 11 points each, with Kiara Jackson tallying a team-high five assists.
The first quarter ended with Fresno State narrowly ahead, but the Lady Rebels quickly wrested back control in the second period with a 12-2 run, setting the tone for the rest of the night. The Bulldogs, who now stand at 12-8 overall and 3-4 in MW play, struggled to keep pace after the initial quarter. Mia Jacobs was the leading scorer for Fresno State with 13 points, supplemented by Mariah Elohim's eight points, as reported by UNLV's athletics site.
The victorious squad also showcased their bench strength, which outscored Fresno State's reserves 27-13. Defensively, the Lady Rebels were staunch, limiting the Bulldogs to just nine points in the final quarter, and they outscored their opponents 36-16 in the paint. Furthermore, they demonstrated superiority in field shooting, converting 52.7% of their shots and edged out Fresno State in rebounds, 34-32, with Alyssa Brown recording two of UNLV's four blocks on the night, according to UNLV.
Looking ahead, UNLV will aim to keep their winning streak alive as they travel to face San Diego State on Saturday.
