A sorrowful scene unfolded on the streets of Vallejo last Saturday when a man's life was abruptly ended in a traffic collision. The Vallejo Police Department responded to a call at about 8:22 p.m. near Sonoma Boulevard and Lemon Street, where officers discovered an unresponsive adult male in the roadway. Despite immediate life-saving attempts by officers and the Vallejo Fire Department paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
The identity of the deceased is currently withheld as notifications of next of kin are pending, arranged through the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office. The driver involved stayed on site and cooperated with the police investigation. Preliminary findings by the VPD suggest that neither alcohol nor drugs were a contributing factor in the fatal event.
