On the last day of 2024, Vallejo's year of violence culminated in its 25th homicide when a male victim, suffering from a gunshot wound, was pronounced dead after being rushed to a local hospital. The Vallejo Police Department received notification from medical personnel on Tuesday at around 5:52 p.m., a mere seven minutes after the incident may have taken place on the 100 block of Kemper Street, as per initial findings based on witness testimonials and evidence at the scene.
Despite attempts by the hospital staff to save the wounded man, his injuries were too severe, and he succumbed shortly after he arrived at the medical facility. The identity of the deceased has not been released to the public. The Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office will handle the notification of the victim's family.

The Vallejo Police Department mentioned that "the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation at this time." Investigators are canvassing for more information, calling upon the community to come forward, which may shed light on the motive and perpetrator involved in this tragic conclusion of the year.
