With comedy at the heart of its mission to spread joy and provide support, Gilda's LaughFest is back for its 15th annual jubilee, bringing local and national comedy acts to Grand Rapids this March. FOX 17 reports the multi-day event, slated for March 5-9, 2025, is actively seeking volunteers for various roles, including ushering and donation collection.
Volunteer hopefuls can expect to contribute in multiple ways, such as ticket collection, ushering attendees, and aiding in donation gathering; moreover, specialized skills in photography, transportation, and office support are keenly sought; LaughFest emphasizes the significance of volunteers to the success of its festivities. As noted by WZZM 13, Leslee Hardebeck, a volunteer since the inception of LaughFest, treasures the community bonds forged through her service, saying, "It's just fun being out there, meeting other volunteers, talking with our guests and laughing."
Festival organizers have announced that the events will spread out across venues in Grand Rapids, Lowell, and Wayland’s Gun Lake Casino and Resort, embracing both ticketed and free shows. Would-be participants interested in volunteering are guided to LaughFest’s website for registration, with upcoming volunteer training outlined for January 28 and February 1, according to WOODTV.
The festival has established a strong platform for comedy talent, featuring over 40 shows that offer humor for a variety of tastes. LaughFest reflects the resilience and joy that Gilda's Club strives to bring to cancer patients, survivors, and their families. The organization, wholly dedicated to providing free support, emphasizes the importance of proceeds from the comedy festival in funding its compassionate programs. Interested volunteers are encouraged to join this joyful event and make a meaningful impact while enjoying the laughter set to echo through the halls of West Michigan this spring.
