Last Friday, the Waxahachie Police Department executed a search warrant in the 600 block of West Jefferson, arresting 40-year-old Erin Leigh Martinez. The search was prompted by reports of suspected drug activity in the area, which led patrol officers to conduct proactive investigations. Based on their findings, the department’s Criminal Investigation Division secured a warrant for the residence.
The search was carried out early in the morning with assistance from the Southern Regional Response Group and concluded without any injuries to residents or officers. Martinez was taken into custody at the scene and is facing charges of Manufacturing or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony.
The Waxahachie Police Department expressed gratitude to several local agencies, including Waxahachie Animal Control, Building and Community Services Code Enforcement, Water Utilities, and Ellis County Child Protective Services, for their support in the operation.
