Early this morning, West Chester Township firefighters were called to a significant blaze that erupted at an industrial building on Sutton Place. Around 40 firefighters arrived at approximately 3 a.m. to confront the fire, which reportedly caused part of the building's roof to give way, as reported by WLWT. The intensity of the inferno was such that it blew out a garage door and led to the structure's partial collapse. Although the main fire had been extinguished, the crew continued to deal with residual hot spots.

No casualties were reported in connection with the incident. However, the challenge of battling a fire in cold conditions was highlighted by West Chester Fire Chief Rick Prinz, who told WLWT, "You need a lot of manpower to rotate manpower to keep them warm, you've got them out there in the elements you have to think about them and they're safety obviously the cold has an impact on us. The water on the ground the ice is up and is a safety concern. A lot of issues when dealing with this type of weather so we just try to overcome it". Meanwhile, Princeton Glendale Road, shut down during the firefighting operations, was later reopened.

Separate reports identify the building as abandoned and formerly occupied by a construction business. Local12 noted that the structure was empty at the fire, and authorities had closed Princeton Glendale Road in both directions as a safety measure. The ownership of the building and its use before the fire have not been detailed in available reports.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials are working to ascertain the origins of the flames and determine the extent of the damage caused. No information regarding potential suspects or accidental causes has been released thus far. In a statement obtained by WCPO, fire authorities indicated that despite the fire's ferocity, there was a slice of fortune in that no injuries were recorded. This incident stresses the hazards present even in what might be considered dormant structures.
