Whataburger is celebrating its 75th anniversary by bringing back popular menu items and introducing new drinks and a fashion collaboration. The Monterey Melt burger, featuring Monterey Jack and American cheese, grilled onions, peppers, and Jalapeño Ranch sauce, will return to the menu on January 7 for a limited time. Also making a comeback is the Chicken Fajita Taco, with grilled chicken, onions, poblano, and red bell peppers in a flour tortilla, according to KHOU.
Whataburger has expanded its beverage menu to include the Mexican Hot Chocolate Coffee and the Mexican Hot Chocolate Shake. The coffee is described as a rich blend of chocolate and cinnamon, while the shake offers a cold, dessert-like version of the same flavor profile. This addition builds on the company's coffee offerings from the previous year. Whataburger President & CEO Debbie Stroud expressed excitement about the new items, stating, "We love keeping things fresh at Whataburger, but sometimes the best way to celebrate is by serving up the classics," as reported by Chron.
Whataburger is launching a 24-piece clothing line with Wrangler this spring, featuring denim jackets, jeans, graphic tees, and ballcaps, available at select retailers and on its online store, Whatastore. To celebrate its anniversary, the brand will offer monthly deals priced at $19.50, reflecting its founding year. "From bringing back some of the most requested menu items to launching brand-new creations and exciting prizes, this year is about giving back to the folks who’ve supported us through the years." The brand will also release more fan favorites from the “WhataVault” leading up to the anniversary of its first restaurant, as stated by KHOU.
