Residents of Wilson are invited to share their thoughts on the future of Raleigh Road Parkway. The N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking public feedback to improve access and traffic safety on this important road. A community meeting will be held to gather ideas, questions, and concerns.
The open house will take place on Thursday next week from 5-7 p.m. at Raleigh Road Baptist Church, located at 4150 Raleigh Road Parkway West. Attendees can view design maps and speak with experts about the project.
The plan includes closing certain median openings and creating reduced conflict intersections. These changes aim to reduce accidents and improve traffic flow, making travel faster and safer.
The project focuses on a 2.6-mile section of Raleigh Road Parkway (U.S. 264 Alternate) between Interstate 95 and Airport Boulevard Northwest. The project is still in the planning stage and has not yet been included in NCDOT’s 10-year capital plan. Full details can be found on N.C. Department of Transportation's official website.
