
Earlier this morning, a woman was left hospitalized after being wounded by a firearm aboard a Lynx bus in Orange County. At approximately 7:10 a.m., authorities responded to a call near Alafaya Trail and East Colonial Drive concerning a gun "accidental discharged" on the public transport vehicle, as reported by WESH 2.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office swiftly arrived on the scene to assess the situation, where they uncovered a woman in her 50s who had sustained gunshot injuries. Despite the unforeseen incident, officials quickly announced that there was no present threat to the community as they worked to unexpectedly determine exactly how the firearm was discharged. According to information obtained by WFTV, the unnamed woman was transported to a hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening.
The sheriff's office has not shared more details about what led to the shooting or if any charges will be filed.
