As the year comes to a close, Wright County License Center has issued a reminder for ATV and boat enthusiasts to renew their annual licenses. With the holiday season causing a crimp in usual services, due to supply shortages and shipping delays, the renewal period for these vehicles was temporarily on hold. However, starting December 31, those needing to renew can do so at designated locations, including the Wright County License Center.
Here's the deal, if you're planning to ride your ATV or hit the waters in your boat come the new year, you need to have that paperwork in order. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) confirmed that not every office has received the requisite supplies, so some might have to wait a bit longer before being able to renew their licenses. According to the official notice, Wright County is good to go, with the necessary "green paper" ready and waiting for those renewals.
For those worried about their snowmobiles, there's no need. The renewal period for snowmobiles began back in June, so they're not caught up in this end-of-year snafu. If you're in Wright County and need to renew, mark your calendars because the License Center will be welcoming you back right after the holiday. Their doors open at 8 a.m. and they'll be taking all forms of payment – that's cash, check, or credit card, though there's an extra fee for plastic.
One last tidbit to keep in mind, the License Center won't be open on January 1, so no trying to sneak in on New Year's Day. They'll be back to their regular hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. after that, Monday through Friday. Whether it's an ATV, an OHV, or a boat you're looking to get licensed, Wright County has got your back once the holiday festivities have wound down.
