A tragic incident unfolded on the afternoon of January 29th, as a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle claimed the life of a young motorcyclist in Las Vegas. According to the official report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the crash occurred at approximately 12:17 p.m. at the intersection of S. Buffalo Drive and Cool Pasture Avenue.
The available information indicates that the motorcyclist, riding a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja, was heading north when a 2018 Toyota Rav4, driven by 82-year-old Christine Courtin of Las Vegas, turned left into the motorcycle's path, resulting in a severe impact that tossed the rider onto the roadway, subsequent efforts by medical personnel to save the 23-year-old male rider were in vain, he was pronounced dead at the scene, marking this as the 15th traffic-related fatality within Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's purview in 2025.
Ms. Courtin sustained minor injuries and cooperated with law enforcement at the scene, where no signs of impairment were detected.
