The Yuba County Sheriff's Department recently announced the arrest of 41-year-old Tou Lee Her following a high-speed chase that took place near Yuba Community College. In a social media post, the Yuba County Sheriff's Department detailed that deputies had tried to pull Her over on Woodland Drive at North Beale Road for several active arrest warrants, but he failed to stop, igniting a pursuit. The chase continued for over 11 miles, with speeds exceeding 90 mph. Deputies were able to put an end to the pursuit by deploying spike strips to disable Her's vehicle.
Her, who attempted to quickly flee on foot after his car was stopped, was apprehended without further resistance. According to the Yuba County Sheriff's Department's Facebook post, he's being booked at the Yuba County Jail on multiple charges, including felony evading and kidnapping, the latter cited due to Her allegedly not allowing his passenger to safely exit the vehicle.
The specific charges listed on the social media update are 2800.2 (a) VC (felony evading), 207 (a) PC (kidnapping-by not allowing his passenger to safely exit the vehicle), 273.6 (a) PC (violation of court order), 148 (a) (1) PC (resisting arrest), and 11364 (a) H&S (possession of drug paraphernalia). The public was informed shortly after the incident, with the Yuba County Sheriff's Department taking to Facebook to share the news.
