
A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot outside a McDonald's in north Houston on Thursday afternoon. According to Click2Houston, a group of Aldine High School students got into a dispute with individuals in a truck. The shooting happened near the McDonald's at 185 West Road, close to Aldine High School. The incident escalated when the teens on foot approached a red Dodge pickup in the drive-thru line, and a gunshot was fired, striking the victim, who died at the scene.
Houston Police detained three persons of interest in a shooting near Tidwell Road and N Wayside Drive, where officers processed evidence, including a handgun. The incident is linked to an altercation during an Aldine High School soccer game the previous day, where a gun was reportedly displayed. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage, including a truck's license plate. Authorities believe at least two people were in the vehicle at the time of the shooting. The victim’s name has not been released, and the number of suspects is still under investigation, as per KHOU 11 and Click2Houston.
Aldine ISD reported that a shooting occurred off campus after school, resulting in the death of a student. The district stated, "Aldine ISD has become aware of a shooting that took place off campus after school. During this incident, an Aldine student was fatally injured. The safety and security of Aldine ISD’s students and staff will always be our top priority. As such, an investigation is underway." Counselors and extra security will be available at Aldine High School, as stated by Click2Houston.
