A 19-year-old woman lost her life in a road rage shooting in Dearborn, Michigan, last Friday night, CBS News Detroit reports. The shooting occurred at the intersection of Tireman Avenue and West Morrow Circle, and Dearborn Police responded around 9:45 p.m. The altercation began when the victim, driving a black 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was reportedly cut off by a driver in a white 2015 Chrysler 200 near Warren Avenue and the Southfield Freeway.
According to details provided by The Detroit News, the woman followed the Chrysler to obtain license plate information, leading to the fatal event where multiple shots were fired from the Chrysler, fatally striking her through the windshield; her two female passengers were unharmed. Authorities have apprehended at least three persons of interest in the incident, with Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin expressing the community's shock and disturbance over the "completely senseless act of violence."
The investigation drew Detroit law enforcement to a home at Whitcomb and Plymouth Road, where the suspect was believed to be barricaded, as noted by ClickOnDetroit. A joint cooperative effort between Dearborn and Detroit police departments has been initiated to respond to this event.
