A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting that occurred in the Carondelet neighborhood in December of last year. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department released a statement indicating that a 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, as reported by the SLMPD official website.
It was on December 18, when a 40-year-old Charles Brown was critically injured by gunfire. The incident happened in the 6500 block of Minnesota, where, according to the police, Brown claimed to have been attacked by two individuals clad in black ski masks and clothing. Unable to give further details of the horrifying experience due to his critical condition, Brown was rushed to a hospital with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, the SLMPD noted.
Investigators from District 1 have been working on the case since the initial report. While early details were scarce, the arrest of the 20-year-old suspect marks a significant development in the investigation. Nevertheless, the authorities are still seeking additional tips which could help clarify the circumstances of the shooting.
