
Yesterday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash on I-75 South near Forest Parkway in Clayton County resulted in three individuals being hospitalized. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Clayton County Fire Chief Tim Sweat stated that the victims were "in stable condition" after being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
Reported at around 3:30 p.m., the incident created significant traffic delays, affecting not just I-75 but also I-285 eastbound and westbound exits to I-75 South, the lanes have since reopened and traffic has returned to normal flow, as both 11Alive and FOX 5 Atlanta note. The Georgia Department of Transportation confirmed that the roadway was cleared and reopened before 5:30 p.m.
The extent of the injuries has not been detailed, however, immediate response from Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services assisted in swiftly attending to the crash that involved multiple vehicles. Besides the fire department, Clayton County Police Department is also investigating the crash, with authorities leveraging nearby GDOT cameras that showed police lights and several emergency vehicles on the scene.
