A recent collision in the northwest Las Vegas valley has resulted in the tragic loss of a 62-year-old man, who succumbed to his injuries following an E-bike accident. As reported by News 3 LV, the incident took place on Friday afternoon near the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Elkhorn Road.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:19 p.m., when a man riding his electric bicycle northbound in a clearly marked bike lane was fatally struck by a vehicle. The Las Vegas Metro Police detailed that a 2007 black Chevrolet Tahoe, piloted by 49-year-old Jesus Robles Jr., veered out of its designated lane and into the path of the cyclist, leading to the devastating incident. Robles has been reported to have shown signs of impairment at the crash scene, and has since been detained and charged, the aforementioned news outlet states.
Following the collision, Emergency Medical Services responded promptly, transferring the cyclist to the University Medical Center Trauma Center in a swift attempt to save his life. However, despite all efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to a report from 8 News Now.
