Anne Arundel County police responded to a reported road rage incident involving the brandishing of what appeared to be a handgun yesterday, resulting in the arrest of a 66-year-old man. According to WBALTV, officers were summoned around 9:50 a.m. to Maryland Route 10 and Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard following the altercation.
The confrontation was said to have begun on Route 10 near Route 648 and continued onto I-495 and Ritchie Highway, with the suspect, later identified as Glenn Anthony Atkins of Brooklyn, allegedly pointing what seemed to be a handgun at a 28-year-old woman, as FOX Baltimore reported.
Anne Arundel County's Real Time Information Center was crucial in identifying and tracking the suspect vehicle, a black 2024 Ford Bronco. Officers confirmed that the vehicle had been traced back to a residential area in Brooklyn. There, police were able to locate and apprehend Atkins, who was positively identified as the suspect.
While Atkins was taken into custody and charged for his alleged involvement in the road rage incident, police did not recover the handgun reportedly involved in the event.
