A tragic incident unfolded on Miller Avenue in Mill Valley when a multi-car collision resulted in the death of an 80-year-old man on Monday. The Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as Robert Charles Brasch, a resident of Mill Valley. The collision involving three vehicles occurred near the intersection with Camino Alto around 2:33 PM. The Mill Valley Police Department and other first responders arrived at the scene to find Brasch unresponsive inside his vehicle, which had rolled over into a ditch. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, Brasch did not respond to treatment and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations by the Mill Valley Police Department suggest a spontaneous medical event could have preceded Brasch losing control of his vehicle. It is reported that the driver may have suffered from this medical emergency before the collision, leading to the unfortunate sequence of events. The exact cause, however, remains under investigation. Following the accident, two additional vehicles reported minor damage, and another driver reported an injury, according to the City of Mill Valley.

The coroner is conducting a forensic postmortem examination with routine toxicology testing to determine the exact causes behind this incident.
