A head-on collision in Oakland Township last Sunday morning resulted in the death of 90-year-old William Frederick Stanley Jr. of Rochester Hills. According to CBS News Detroit, Stanley was driving a 2002 GMC Sierra when he crossed the center line and collided with a 2024 Dodge Ram on Rochester Road near Lonesome Oak Drive. The crash occurred at 9:26 a.m., with icy road conditions considered a contributing factor.
A 44-year-old Oakland Township man, who was wearing a seat belt, was uninjured in the crash. Stanley’s seat belt use could not be confirmed. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, as reported by FOX 2 Detroit.
Officials stated that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash, which is under investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office and its Crash Reconstruction Unit. Authorities continue to examine the circumstances to determine the cause, as stated by audacy.
