Following the initial assessment on Monday, which led officials to cordon off the sidewalk and street parking, the building's conditions worsened, prompting the Summit County Division of Building Standards to declare the structure an imminent danger. A non-functioning fire panel was also found, compounding the risks. This finding prompted immediate evacuation orders, which the Fire Chief issued on Thursday, causing the building's 60 residents, housed within 51 units, to find themselves refugees of their own homes suddenly.
