
Terrence Harrington, 40, has been arrested and extradited to Michigan from Nevada for allegedly stealing from fitness center locker rooms in Michigan and other states. He faces charges of larceny in a building and stealing or retaining a financial transaction device without consent. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested Harrington in Las Vegas and found evidence linking him to the crimes, as stated by Audacy.
Harrington has been charged with four counts of felony larceny in a building and eight counts of felony stealing or retaining a financial transaction device without consent. He is accused of stealing valuables and credit cards from gym-goers at Planet Fitness and LA Fitness locations in Troy and Royal Oak in December. The Special Investigations Unit, which includes officers from the Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak, and Troy Police Departments, led the investigation. Police suspect Harrington of similar thefts in other Michigan cities and in Washington, California, and Nevada. “Harrington is known to travel across state lines, committing financial crimes and theft-related offenses that originate with thefts from local gym locker rooms,” as reported by CBS Detroit.
Harrington was arraigned in Oakland County's 52-4 District Court after being extradited. His bond was set at $200,000 cash or surety. If released, he must wear a GPS tether. "Harrington is suspected of thefts in other Michigan cities and Washington, California, and Nevada," according to FOX 2 Detroit. Troy police continue to monitor the case as investigations into interstate criminal activity continue.
