A multi-month fugitive hunt came to a close yesterday, with the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office announcing the arrest of Dereck Reeves, 33, alongside his girlfriend, Chanelle Ollison, after officials located Reeves at Ollison's apartment. According to a report by WTAE, Reeves, who had outstanding bench warrants related to drug and firearm violations, an escape charge, and an unrelated indecent assault case, had managed to elude law enforcement since December.
Detectives were tipped off about Reeves' whereabouts, leading them to surveil Ollison's residence. Ollison, who reportedly lied about Reeves' presence and refused to give detectives entry, was seen leaving the apartment building and subsequently stopped for questioning. She maintained her stance, stating she didn't know where Reeves was and claimed no one could be in her apartment due to a heating issue. Officials, however, could visually confirm Reeves' presence through the apartment window, as WPXI detailed.
Following the sighting, law enforcement swiftly applied for a search warrant. However, even before the warrant could be secured, officers spotted Reeves inside the apartment, enabling them to arrest him promptly and without further events. Both Reeves and Ollison, now facing additional charges for hindering apprehension and possession of marijuana, respectively, were transported to Allegheny County Jail.
