Argyle, Wisconsin, has applied for funding from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to improve its public water system. The village plans to replace aging water mains on Fairview Avenue through the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
The Department of Natural Resources confirms that "an environmental review must be conducted before funding this project." Under Chapter NR 150, Wis. Admin. Code, the project qualifies as a minor action and does not require intensive analysis. The review found no significant environmental impact, allowing the funding process to move forward. Public comments are invited as part of the decision-making process.
Argyle residents and stakeholders can submit public comments on the proposed water infrastructure project until February 21. The state has completed its review, and project details, along with the comment process, are available in the Department of Natural Resources official release.
