
The Austin Police Department is actively seeking assistance from the community to locate a suspect involved in an aggravated assault incident from last year. According to a report by CBS Austin, the violent event took place on October 27th at the Reserve at Springdale Apartments, located at 5605 Springdale Road around 5:23 p.m.
It was reported that the victim was inside his car when a silver Dodge Challenger passed by, a suspect, allegedly armed with an assault-style rifle emerged from the vehicle and opened fire. Fortunately, the intended target escaped harm, however, three parked cars were not so lucky, sustaining damage in the assault. The suspect is described as a black male with shoulder-length dreads, wearing a ski mask. Following the incident, the suspect vacated the premises.
The police are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the occurrence to come forward. In a statement obtained by MSN, individuals can relay information to the APD's Aggravated Assault unit by dialing 512-974-4940, or they may choose to remain anonymous by submitting tips through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477.
The Austin Police Department underscores the seriousness of the situation and, as an incentive for those who might be hesitant to step forward, a reward of up to $1,000 may be granted for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
