
Authorities have arrested in the case of a January homicide that occurred in the Northern District. As reported by the Baltimore Police Department, the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Zion Clayton from Baltimore, has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Anthony McMichael.
On the morning of January 24, Northwest District patrol officers had responded to a hospital report of a walk-in shooting victim, discovering McMichael suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite surgical interventions aimed to save his life, McMichael was pronounced deceased. The preliminary investigation pinpointed the 3000 block of Oakley Avenue as the site of the shooting. It wasn’t until last Friday that Clayton was found and arrested without incident near Braeside Road and Old Frederick Road.
Following his apprehension, Zion Clayton was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility. According to the police statement, he faces charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and handgun violations.
