
The investigation into a shooting that afflicted the Northwest District of Baltimore last year has led to an arrest, according to the Baltimore Police Department's social media post. The authorities confirmed that Joseph Edwards, a 24-year-old male from Baltimore, has been charged in connection with the shooting of a 25-year-old male that took place on April 23, 2024.
Following months of investigation, on February 4, 2025, Baltimore's Warrant Apprehension Detectives apprehended Edwards at a hotel in Baltimore County. He was subsequently transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces charges including Attempted First-Degree Murder and violations related to Drug & Firearm Trafficking.
The incident that led to these charges occurred in the 3100 block of West North Avenue. A late-night call on April 23 summoned Northwest District patrol officers to a scene where they discovered a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot injuries. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was hastened to an area hospital for emergency care.
In their social media briefing, Baltimore Police relayed that Homicide detectives took charge of the case due to the severity of the victim's condition.
