Atlas Restaurant Group is branching out to Annapolis with a new installation of The Admiral's Cup, a well-loved Baltimore establishment slated to open in the summer of 2025. This seaside city will soon host the venerable tavern within its historic Stevens Hardware building, located at City Dock. The expansion is a clear signal of Atlas's growing footprint in Maryland's dining scene, as the group has been steadily amassing a collection of more than 30 properties across several states.
The fanfare surrounding The Admiral's Cup comes from its reputation in Baltimore's Fell's Point since the 1980s, where it's been widely recognized for its vibrant nightlife and diverse music lineup. Intent on bringing this same lively atmosphere to downtown Annapolis, Atlas plans to translate the essence of the original and seamlessly integrate it into the existing waterfront vibe, aiming to create a new local hotspot. "With its waterfront location, live music, and vibrant energy, The Admiral's Cup will be a great addition to City Dock and a place where locals and visitors can come together to enjoy great entertainment and food," Alex Smith, Founder and President of Atlas Restaurant Group, stated, as per Eye on Annapolis in a statement.
Adding The Admiral's Cup to the City Dock area in Annapolis is expected to enhance its appeal, as Smith emphasized its suitability among the bars downtown. The group aims to attract locals and visiting patrons with the dual assurance of live music and waterfront dining. In a recent WMAR-2 News release, Smith's vision states, "We believe The Admiral’s Cup will fit in perfectly with the surrounding bars in downtown Annapolis."
Beyond the confines of The Admiral’s Cup, Atlas Restaurant Group is not stopping to expand its culinary empire in Annapolis rapidly. Their plans include opening two more restaurants, Marmo and Armada, during the summer and undertaking the Annapolis Waterfront Hotel event venue.
