The City of Beaver Dam Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on the 2045 Comprehensive Plan Update on March 26 at 4 p.m. in the city hall. Beaver Dam’s last comprehensive plan was adopted in 2009. Last year, the local government formed the Community Action Plan (CAP) Committee, inviting residents to get involved. The committee took the task seriously, with 40 members dedicating over 1,000 hours over five months to research and discussions. Their efforts resulted in the "Hometown Plan," which includes more than 72 recommendations for improving Beaver Dam.
From city hall leaders to engaged locals, many have contributed to shaping this comprehensive vision. Building on the Hometown Plan, the Plan Commission has carefully reviewed the recommendations throughout 2024. These updated proposals aren’t just revisions—they reflect new data, challenges, and opportunities for the city.
