Darren Bradford, a 24-year-old resident of Berkley, has been arrested for allegedly committing sex crimes involving minors and providing them with alcohol and drugs. The investigation started on February 5 after Berkley police received a tip about minors frequently visiting Bradford's apartment. An undercover operation later observed minors visiting his residence and going to lunch, where alcohol and illegal substances were allegedly provided, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
Bradford was arrested at his home last Friday after being charged by the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office with third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor aged 13 to 15. He was given a $175,000 cash bond and is under GPS monitoring with restrictions to protect minors. The investigation also found that Bradford allegedly distributed marijuana vapes, cartridges, alcohol, and nicotine vape products to several minors. Additional charges are being considered, as mentioned by ClickOnDetroit.
The Berkley Department of Public Safety is investigating Bradford for illegal activities and is asking parents to talk to their children and report any information or victim statements. Authorities believe there may be more incidents involving minors. A preliminary examination date for Bradford will be set soon. Officials stated, "The investigation is uncovering the depth of his deceit, length of time, profits, and illegal acts he was committing," as stated by CBS News.
