A devastating house fire in Union Grove on February 20th claimed the life of 38-year-old Jeffery Paradise, a business owner from the Black River Falls area. The Racine County Sheriff's Office reported deputies were called to the fire near New Street and 11th Avenue just after 8:15 p.m. Once the blaze was controlled, Paradise's body was subsequently discovered among the ruins, as per WISN.
The investigation is ongoing, aiming to both determine the cause of the tragic fire and officially confirm Paradise's cause of death. No injuries were initially reported from the incident. Paradise, known to have owned a construction company, had been staying at the Union Grove residence, which he was reportedly renovating. Space heaters, utilized in the room where Paradise was residing, may have played a role in the fire, although this has not been firmly established, according to the sheriff's office as mentioned in a CBS58 article.
