Breaking news from Boston's Dorchester neighborhood: a significant drug bust has resulted in the arrest of two individuals. The Boston Police Department carried out a search warrant yesterday, at about 10:24 a.m. at 51 Norton Street. Julian Niles, 34, from Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Daeshawn Jackson, 21, of Boston, now face several drug and firearm-related charges. According to Boston Police Department's official report, the operation was a joint effort between Officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) and District B-2 (Roxbury) Drug Control Units.

Observing the residence prior to the warrant's execution, officers spotted Jackson multiple times as he entered and exited the building. Arriving on an electric scooter, Niles was seen joining him inside the premises. Based on the investigative findings, both suspects were detained while they walked together towards Richfield Street, suspected to be dispersing narcotics in the area. "Officers suspected that Niles was distributing narcotics in the vicinity, utilizing nearby streets for his activities," as the report stated.

Upon their arrest, Jackson was caught with a substance believed to be fentanyl. Niles carried an undisclosed sum of money and also two packages of what seemed to be crack cocaine. Further probing into Niles' belongings uncovered additional drugs including multiple bags of fentanyl and crack cocaine concealed on his person. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of an array of items, including a loaded Sig Sauer P365 semi-automatic pistol with high-capacity magazines and extra rounds, different pills and powders suspected to be narcotics, and drug paraphernalia.

Now loaded with a high-capacity magazine, a Sig Sauer P365 semi-automatic pistol was among the items seized along with 11 rounds and an additional 10 rounds of ammunition, according to the Boston Police. Daeshawn S. Jackson is faced with charges including unlawful possession of a large capacity firearm, ammunition, a large capacity feeding device, and improper storage of a firearm, among others. He was also charged with trafficking Class B drugs (crack cocaine) and possession with intent to distribute Class A drugs (fentanyl). Moreover, he was charged with receiving stolen property.

Julian Niles' charges are possession with intent to distribute both Class A (Fentanyl) and Class B (Crack Cocaine) drugs. Both he and Jackson are expected to face arraignment in Dorchester District Court.
