A 911 call at 1:17 p.m. on Wednesday reported a stabbing on Lost Hollow Drive in Brentwood. Police said a man was stabbing a woman when a nearby civilian attempted to stop the assault by firing at the suspect. Brentwood first responders, including Police, Fire and Rescue, and EMS, arrived at the scene to assist both the victim and the suspect. The victim was stabbed multiple times despite a neighbor's attempt to intervene. Both individuals were transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center; the woman is expected to recover, and the suspect underwent surgery for injuries sustained from the neighbor's defensive gunfire, as stated by the Brentwood Police Department.
