A tragic incident occurred in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, where a six-year-old girl was found dead in a bathtub. As per the abc7NY report, the child's mother has been charged in connection with the death. The charges may change as the medical examiner investigates the cause of death.

Emmanuel Pichardo, a colleague of the girl's father, told The New York Post that the father received a message on Friday afternoon saying someone killed his daughter. He added that the father, identified as "George," had been missing from work, which raised concern. The girl's mother was later seen being taken from the home in handcuffs. She was questioned by police but had not been charged as of Saturday afternoon.

According to The New York Post, neighbors remembered the girl as a "happy and cute" child. Some recalled seeing the mother and daughter playing together, with neighbors saying, "I see that they are happy. I see the mother loved the girl…and [the father] is a nice guy." However, there were reports of screaming heard in the early hours of the morning before the child’s death.

First responders found the child with her lips green and eyes closed, covered by a white sheet. She was later pronounced dead at Brookdale University Medical Center. Law enforcement sources told The New York Post that the child may have been submerged for about 20 minutes and had blood clots in her eyes, indicating a possible struggle.

The NYPD Crime Scene Unit is actively investigating the incident, collecting evidence from the home.
