The Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed the arrest of a 22-year-old man, identified as Miquel Beasley from Bryans Road, MD, in connection with an armed carjacking incident that took place in Southeast D.C. last year.

According to the MPD's official release, the incident occurred on Friday, March 22, 2024, when Beasley and the victim were inside the victim's car on the 3900 block of 1st Street, Southeast. During the encounter, Beasley displayed a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and instructed the victim to leave the vehicle. The victim complied, and Beasley then fled with the car.

The arrest, which took place last Thursday, was performed under a DC Superior Court warrant, resulting in charges against Beasley for Armed Carjacking (Gun) and Failure to Appear.
