
The community in Burnet County is on high alert as authorities continue their search for a missing 73-year-old man, described as a white male, standing about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, with grey hair and blue eyes. According to a report by KXAN, Michael Pirie was last seen on Saturday at 6:23 p.m. in the vicinity of the 2300 block of West State Highway 29 in Burnet.
Reported missing and diagnosed with a cognitive impairment, authorities have raised concerns that his disappearance poses a credible threat to what they believe may be his health and safety. Issued on Monday around 1 p.m. was a Silver Alert for Michael Pirie, as seen last wearing a green, long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans. With gray hair and blue eyes, he is described as a 5’11” white man who weighs approximately 160 lbs. He was seen walking, officials from the Burnet County Sheriff's Office said in the alert.
In their ongoing efforts, the Texas Department of Public Safety and local officials are reaching out to the public. In a statement obtained by News 4 San Antonio, they have provided a point of contact for anyone who might have information on Michael Pirie's whereabouts, urging them to call the Burnet County Sheriff's Office at (512) 756-8080.
The information has been widely disseminated in hopes of finding the elderly man safe. Last seen near the corner of West State Highway 29 and Chisum Trail, near Burnet, Texas, Michael Pirie's case has urged community members and passers-by to remain vigilant and report any sightings.
