A grim narrative has unfolded in Brooklyn, where Gabriel Sanchez, 41, is accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend, Celina Ramos, 32, before turning the gun on himself in what appears to be a murder-suicide incident. The tragedy took place on a Bushwick sidewalk near Jefferson Ave. around 7:30 a.m., as News 12 Brooklyn reported.
According to witnesses, an intense altercation preceded the lethal encounter Sanchez and Ramos were heard arguing while running down Jefferson Avenue previous to when a neighbor reported hearing a woman screaming "for her life", a chilling prelude to three shots and resulting silence, the soundscape of a local horror ending two lives, the chaos giving way to a somber scene for first responders, News 12 Brooklyn detailed the aftermath. In the wake of the tragedy, friends and family attempted to honor the deceased with a small vigil, only to have it upended by those grieving the slain woman.
Further investigation by The Daily News revealed Sanchez's dark history of stalking and threatening his ex-girlfriend, including sinister emails and lurking close to her home. Court documents indicated that roughly one year and three months prior to Ramos's murder, Sanchez had tormented his ex with messages of impending doom; haunting words like "I guess we will be seeing our fathers very soon since you not calling me. We will be drinking in heaven with them. Hope you ready," the ex-girlfriend found herself enshrouded by his ominous presence both digitally and physically.
Despite his arrest on January 22 this year for charges including stalking, harassment, and unlawful dissemination of an intimate image, Sanchez was released without bail and was due in a "problem-solving court", yet he never saw that day, The Daily News confirms from the documents that the case was no match for the impending violence. Sanchez's mother, in a poignant conversation obtained by News 12 Brooklyn, expressed disbelief, disclosing she had been unaware her son owned a gun, and remained at a loss to comprehend the events that led to the heartbreaking incident.
