It's been a harmonious victory for Canutillo High School as three of their band students are hitting the right notes to advance to the state competition. After shining in the University Interscholastic League Regional Solo and Ensemble Competition, they've secured their place to perform with the cream of Texas student musicians.

The district celebrated as six of its students received a Division I rating, which denotes the highest level of performance. "We are incredibly proud of this group of students for their outstanding performances," District Music Administrator Andres Rodriguez said, according to Canutillo ISD. Evelyn Blair (Flute), Leyla Vasquez (Clarinet), and Brandon Lara (Euphonium) were the three top scorers qualifying for the state-level spotlight.

Joining the triumphant trio, Oriana Mason also showcased her skills with the clarinet, Keila Salayandia played the alto saxophone, and Diego Diaz performed on the tenor saxophone, each earning high praises for their musical prowess. With a strong emphasis on fine arts instruction, Canutillo ISD's music program continues to foster top-tier talent.

Canutillo ISD's commitment to nurturing the arts is all too clear. "On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire Canutillo ISD community, I want to congratulate these six amazing students for representing our district at such a high level," Superintendent Dr. Pedro Galaviz expressively stated, as per Canutillo ISD. It's a manifestation of the district's dedication to its fine arts programming, which appears to be yielding notable results. As the students tune their instruments for the state competition, they carry not only their melodies but the high hopes of their district's faith in their grand achievements.
