The City of Casa Grande is shifting gears in the realm of pet licensing and care by taking a decidedly digital turn. In a move bound to streamline the wayward pet recovery process, officials have tapped into the services of DocuPet, a name that's setting the standard in pet identification globally. According to the City of Casa Grande announcement, this new service allows pet parents to swiftly and conveniently register their furry friends from the comfort of their homes or on the go, ensuring they're accounted for if they ever get lost. "We're excited to offer this new partnership with DocuPet to pet owners in Casa Grande," Cerise Shanafelt, the city's Animal Control Supervisor, affirmed in a statement chronicled on the City of Casa Grande's official website.
A major perk of this arrangement is the free access to DocuPet’s HomeSafe® 24/7 lost pet service. Designed to promptly reunite lost pets with their families, it's also set to potentially decimate shelter intakes. Pet owners now can fully harness the power of designer pet tags that can also be custom-crafted to suit any discerning taste. Positioned in each tag is a unique code, the digital breadcrumb that links back to the pet's secure online profile. This is a plus for good Samaritans looking to safely return wandering pets—their chances are now higher to quickly file a Found Pet Report. Equally, pet owners can speedily lodge a Lost Pet Report, bolstering the likelihood of a happy, tail-wagging ending.
"Pets with DocuPet tags typically spend less time in shelters than those without licenses," said Grant Goodwin, CEO of DocuPet. The city harbors aspirations that the partnership with DocuPet will not only augment the efficiency of local animal services but will also imbue pet owners with a comforting sense of security. All cats and dogs within Casa Grande are mandated to receive a license and rabies vaccination. Those looking to embrace the convenience of this new service are invited to register their pets online, as per the City of Casa Grande's official website.
The Casa Grande Animal Care & Adoption Center has you covered. Staff opens the doors for potential pet parents Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and even on Saturdays, but only by appointment.
