The National Weather Service in Charlotte, North Carolina, has predicted a clear shift towards fairer weather following a chilly start to the day. In the latest update by the NWS, prognosticators indicated that residents could anticipate a high of 45°F today with winds from the north northwest at a gentle 3 to 7 mph. The current temperature hovers around 19°F, with a somewhat bearable humidity level of 65 percent.
As nighttime falls over Charlotte, the conditions are set to remain mostly clear, with the mercury dropping to a low of around 24°F in the absence of a wind. This period of calm is precursor to an incremental climb in temperature over the weekend, with Saturday's forecast suggesting increasing clouds and a modest high of about 49°F, which could prove to be respite from the biting cold of the earlier week.
Looking ahead, the NWS anticipates a series of sunny days from Sunday through Tuesday, with the daily highs gradually rising from 56°F to a comfortable 68°F at the start of the workweek. Evenings are expected to stay mostly clear, though temperatures at night will be in the cooler range of 32°F to 41°F.
However, as midweek approaches, Charlotte residents might need to brace for changing weather conditions. The NWS warns of a 50 percent chance of showers by Thursday. Despite the potential precipitation, it should remain warm with a high of near 66°F.
