The Law Department is bringing fresh leadership into the foreground with the appointment of Ji Jun as the new chair of the Corporate & Tax Group. With an already impressive tenure that began in 2006, Ji is moving up from her role as Chief of the Regulatory Law Unit to take the reins of five specialized units within the department, as reported by the City of Philadelphia. Ji's resume is notable for her extensive experience in handling legal matters throughout the city, ranging from tax litigation to real estate development.
According to an announcement from the City of Philadelphia, Ji has an extensive background that saw her start as counsel to the Airport straight out of law school. Her versatility in legal matters is well documented, having served as in-house counsel to the Water Department, where she shouldered the responsibility of supporting the utility’s business operations for over a decade.
During her time overseeing the Regulatory Law Unit, Ji was in charge of 21 attorneys working across divisions like Airport, Water, Environmental, and Right-of-Way and Utilities, as detailed by the City of Philadelphia. From commercial transactions to environmental counseling, her work has painted a picture of an adept legal mind capable of steering through complex regulatory and compliance issues.
