According to WPXI, the incident occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. this morning as a young girl was pursued by a man in a Ford Focus close to Mulberry Way, continuing towards the Clairton Education Center.
The school district responded with vigilance, issuing a statement emphasizing the importance of student safety and advising immediate action if a stranger makes an unwelcome approach. As the young girl experienced, "We want to remind everyone to be cautious when walking to and from school. If a stranger approaches you, do not engage with them and immediately report the incident to a trusted teacher or staff member. Your child’s safety is our number one priority, so please report any suspicious activity they may encounter," urging for increased awareness amongst students and parents alike. Clairton Police have confirmed they are investigating the unnerving encounter, concurrently maintaining a presence in the school's vicinity, a standard daily security measure, as WPXI reported.
